Periodontal or gum therapy is usually needed if there is bone loss around the teeth, which can be due to a buildup of calculus below the gum level.
Symptoms of Periodontal Disease
Usually this disease is painless but indications include red, swollen, and bleeding gums. If periodontal disease persists, bone loss and eventual tooth loss will occur. There are also links of untreated periodontal disorders and poor cardiovascular health.
